Another week

August 9th, 2010

Well this week was full of things to do. On Monday we had P-Day and went golfing with Ekna Rehm. I shot a 85 in a round of 18. It helps to have comp who has a scholarship to Utah State for golf. Later we just went bowling with the Los Mexicanoes. Man its funny to see them play sports they have never played befor.
The next couple of days i had to spend with the Los Mexicanoes (Elder Martinez and Elder Hernandez) because of a two day meeting my companion had to go to. We had to cover both our areas so it was pretty exhausting going back and forth trying to see all of our investigators. On Tuesday we celebrated the birthday of Ekna Rehm. She is such a big help to missionary work so a bunch of her friends and us went to her house and ate some wierd stuff. Lets just say i had to struggle to keep my it down. Usually its good, but this time i really struggled to keep it down.
Later we had the Zone Leaders come up to give baptismal interviews to some of our investigators who have dates for the 14th of August. We are so stoked for them to get baptized because of the happiness it will bring them. They have faithfully kept all commitments and they have recieved so many blessings for it.
It was cool on Saturday Ekna's brother flew in from Utah. His name is Mike Zamora. He lives in Herrimen, Utah. He said he met my mom and got to talk to her for a little bit. He met up with her to get some things sent to me. This made it easier cause it didn't cost her anything. We ended up sharing my story about my operation on my cola (butt). Lets just say there wasn't a dry eye in the house because all of them were laughing so hard. I didn't know talking about it could get that kind of response.
Well transfers are coming up this week. We will recieve calls on Saturday to see if i am staying or if i am going. I can't believe i have been her like three months already. It feels like yesterday i was home. Man time flies when you are in the serving a mission. I love this gospel and how it makes life so much easier. I have always been around the gospel, but never really seen the changes it can have on other peoples lives and even my own. We are truely blessed.

Summer Update

*As written by Kiersti
Last week I received a letter and a memory card from Scott - so I will update this and narrate the pictures to the best of my knowledge :)

This is a dog that I have been told remind him of my dog, Daisy.  Before he had his surgery and came home, this dog lived with a member that Scott and his companion also lived with.  He said it is an awesome dog, which, of course, is even more a reason why it would remind him is my dog.

The smallest baptismal font I have ever seen!  Of course, it doesn't matter how big the font is, as long as it gets the job done, right?

We'll just title this picture
"My Worst Nightmare"

Crazy missionaries......
On his little medical hiatus from the mission field, just after surgery in Oregon.  From the pictures he sent, Oregon is BEAUTIFUL and I'm glad he got to explore and enjoy some of it while he was there for not-so-fun reason.
This is the hospital he had his surgery at.  He said it is massive.
Missionaries wearing bike helmets....
And I saved the best for last.  Scott got a pedicure.  He said it was fabulous and he would do it again in a heart beat.  He even got his nails painted - not sure why he went so far as to do that, but hey, why not?
Scott sounds like he's doing great and having a blast doing the Lord's work - of course.  He has fun whenever and wherever!
We love you Scott, keep the pictures and emails coming!!

Life In Tucson

Today is the 1st of July!!! I am in south tucson. My companions name is Elder Pickup. He is from Burley, Idaho. I am living in a roach infested apartment and life is great. It is very hot right now so i am grateful for weather below 100 degrees. Spanish is coming step by step and my love for the gospel is growing everyday.
So today i am at my favorite members house. Their names are Ekna and Jarred Rehm. They are so awesome and they help out with missionary work so much. They invited us over for lunch at there house so i am pretty stoked for some good food. We have for today a ton of appointments and have received a ton of names to see if they are ready to hear about this gospel. I am excited to see if they will be baptized!!!!! So this weekend is the 4 of July and we are excited for the fire works. We might go on top of A mountain or to the Indian Casino known as, "Casino Del Sol." Monsoon is about to start so i am excited to hopefully cool down, but then that means it will be humid so pretty much i am screwed. They don't call me sweaty scott for nothing ha ha. Well time to go to work. Peace!!! I will post pictures on P-Day or possibly later this week.
